Handling Video & Media

Each Canvas course has one gigabyte of fast-loading storage space for regular course documents.
For larger media files like videos and image slideshows, we have additional storage space optimized for that task.

We have 2 media delivery options that integrate well with Canvas:

Canvas Studio:
Video with optional discussion feed accompanying the content. Useful for video discussion, graded assignments. Short videos; storage is limited to ~1Gb.

Echo360 Video:
Our primary classroom lecture-capture platform, but you can also add your own video files. Any length videos, essentially unlimited storage. Videos are associated with a course section, we can help get this set up.

How to get started?

The Canvas menu on the left has a Media Storage button to get you started. You'll find links to the tools, user guides, request forms, and some additional resources to look through.

Also, the toolbar above most text boxes have links for Echo360 and Canvas Studio. When you're typing content into a syllabus area, assignment area, content page, or discussion board post, you will have access to all of these options to quickly upload and insert a media file.

Finally, this module has dedicated getting started pages for Echo360.
